I have been fortunate enough to purchase a lovely Deltacraft Islander Mk1 - fully operational ect the trailer however is a different story, quite possibly a write off - not sure if I should invest lots of $$$ into repairs or lash out and buy new. Boat is in Sydney and new home is in Mallacoota, Victoria.
Any advice gratefully received ie. Sydney repairer ect.

Congratulations, Maybe you can hire a trailer to get it home or have your boat and old trailer transported on a flatbed truck home

Courtney remember to post lots of pictures of your boat and adventures

Jimmy’s suggestion of a flat bed is what I would do. This is a tilt tray truck. Delta Joe , could you provide the details of the guy you used to move the Angler please. Just get the truck driver to drag the old trailer and boat on. From there you can sort things out once home.

I once did a frame repair on a ski boat trailer and got it re galvanised. In hindsight it would have been way easier to either build a complete new frame or just buy a new trailer. Grinding off old salty gal so you can weld is a time consuming, unpleasant job. Once you buy all the steel, grinding disc, welding rods etc and factor in getting the frame to the galvanisers and paying for that a new trailer frame starts to look like good value!
