Speaking of fuel tanks, Steve advises that the Mark 1 fuel tanks were 60 litres and made in stainless steel. In the very beginning some red plastic ones of 20 litres were also used. There were also some special size orders.
More on size :- One cubic foot holds 6.25 gallons, work out how many cubic feet, then convert to metric for litres. There are 4.54 litres to 1 gallon. Which works out, for those of you who remember when decimal currency came in, a 44 gallon drum became 200 litre drum.
One cubic meter equals 1000 litres or one million ( 1,000,000 ) cubic centimeters.
