Hi Visitors. I just talked to a most interesting guy who has restored 5 Delta Islanders and owned seven ! most amazing and he still loves em, reckons the best engineered boat he has come across, as you know I don't build em anymore but always nice to chat to an admirer of the boats.

Hi Steve, I refer to your above post of 10 May 2016. That was me you were speaking with and I write to let you know that after a bit of a break I am about to start my 6th restoration. Still love them, still amazed at their strength and longevity and still impressed that even the roughest of examples can still be brought back to a great usable family fun boat relatively easy.
Most of these boats have already been through many families and it’s always good to see them going to a new one to bring smile after smile for years to come.
I normally market a finished boat pretty much straight away so it’s nice and fresh for its new owners.
You have a lot to be proud of.

Refurbishing Mk2 Deltacraft

The Lake Macquarie Classic Boatshed has obtained a Mk2 Deltacraft and is refurbishing it in their boat shed at Rathmines Park (beside Shops).
We hope to have it back in the water in May /June 2017.
With 40 members we have wide skills in mechanics and wood and fibreglass boat building but no specific experience with Deltacraft.
If any members of your Group are interested we would be happy for any experience.
It will be available for sale
We are always open on Thursday mornings .
