Steve Leonard advices some details of the two versions.
The MK1 was a boat designed by Ken Beashell of Elvina Bay, Pittwater, in about 1970.
It was an instant success after I got it and put an half cabin on it with full headroom (sold 17 at its first boatshow in 1978)
No windows in the front of the cabin, sort of comes to a blunt front, tug boat style bow. This quirky, tug-like, inward slope of the hull at the bow was a feature of the Mk1.
With its tugboat look and great hull shape, easily recognized by the narrow cabin front with a single hatch and no front windows only side ones. We built and sold 540.
The MKII was designed by Phil Curren a Naval Architect of Western Australia in about 1978. MKII is a short fat boat.
Much rounder shape than the MkI but roomier, with front cabin windows and hard top. Note the clean fore-deck compared to the MK1.
We got it in 1982 and John and I reckon we built about 125. We sold out in 1988 and the new owners went on to build about another 20.
