Vegie garden is full. Dug new potatoes yesterday and have had our first raspberries and cream already. Plenty more to come if we can beat the birds.
27 November 2008 From:- Wendy, Tasman Peninsular, Tasmania

Found your page looking for the words to Six White Boomers to send to some American friends. It's great but I have to plead for one addition to the Christmas lunch menu.

Here in Tasmania fresh raspberries with a sprinkling of icing sugar. We kids always picked them on Christmas morning and now it is the job of the next generation. As always the challenge is getting enough in the billy which make it to the table before they are eaten. It's just a little like entrusting the pea shelling job to children I suspect.

I admit to being 50+ but we still have fresh peas and raspberries in our family.

I live in pink eye potato country. On the Tasman Peninsular with lovely views of King George Sound from the living room.

I grew up in Launceston. Heaps of raspberries but no pink eyes.

Cannot imagine how much fresh raspberries might cost in Sydney. Lucky us Mum kept the canes in at home, one of we kids, all adult these days of course, prune and tie them up for her since Dad died. She still makes jam and if there is anything better than fresh raspberries with icing sugar its fresh raspberry jam and cream on (dare I confess) fresh white bread. That tends to be the fate of the first pot of fresh jam!

And of course those beautiful apples in the Tamar Valley.

I noticed last summer that a number of the orchards in the Cygnet area are being replanted although no Lady in the Snows, Geeveston Fanny's or Coxes Orange Pippins varieties, just lots of Nashis and Golden Delicious sadly.

People say that buying spuds and apples by variety marks you as a true Tasmanian.

I had lots of fun on your site and my US friends love it.

Absolutely brilliant site. After seeing all within the pages we would like to move out straight away, if it were that easy.

Why didn't I find this site first? When I was looking for general information about our upcoming visit to Tassie. It's got really good basic categories, and follows through really well. And all I really wanted to know was what weather to expect later this month. Great work.

I visited the town of Sheffield and marvelled at the murals in the town. You must include the town in your "attractions" section. Your Tasmanian website provided my wife and I with some very valuable information for our recent visit. Anyone planning a Tasmanian holiday must, first, visit your website.

Well I love Tasmania, my mother was born in Tasmania in the foothills of Mt. Roland and later in Westbury. I have had many trips there since. I love fishing and I have toured far & wide across the central highlands. Bronte Park is a favorite. I am writing to thank you for such a good site.
